My senior lab mix used to struggle getting up from her old flat bed, but the raised headrest and thick memory foam base on this one give her something to push against. She's 70 pounds and it hasn't flattened out at all after two months.
Threw the bouclé cover in the wash after a muddy week and it came out looking brand new, no pilling at all. The memory foam base is firm enough that my old dog can actually push himself up in the morning instead of struggling.
Our older dog is finally sleeping through the night on this bed — the raised headrest seems to really ease her joint pain. The bouclé cover is soft but still holds up to her scratching, and I love that I can just toss it in the wash.
