The open front is the whole reason I bought this—my old shepherd mix can step in without me lifting her back end anymore. The raised sides still give her something to lean into when she curls up, and the puffer fill hasn't flattened after a month.

Our old golden retriever struggled to climb into beds, but the open front on this one lets him step right in without straining. He's been sleeping deeper than ever with that raised back supporting his joints.

My arthritic lab mix now walks straight in instead of hesitating at the edge, and the raised back gives her something to lean against. Only wish the cover came off easier for washing.
